About Me

Meagan King

Meagan King grew up in the small town of Chatham with a love for filmmaking. She would always be running around with a camera in her hand, creating whatever story comes to her head. She has done lots of work at the Chatham Catholic Family of Parishes creating a video series called Did You Know? and a podcast called M&M Church Talk which both explore the family of parishes through the volunteers and staff that work there. Meagan created her first short film Robot Friend during her first year at Humber Polytechnic taking their Film and Television Production program. It has been nominated and received awards at film festivals including Best First-Time Filmmaker at the Alternative Film Festival and Best Toronto Film at the 300 Second Short Film Festival. Meagan has produced a short documentary Go Where The Snow Is: Making Mentors, which explored the life and legacy of the late Drew Hodgins at Mount St. Louis Moonstone and short film Zero O’Clock which was nominated and awarded Best Student Film at Toronto Arts & Entertainment Film Festival and selected for screening at the Great Canadian Comedy Film Festival. She’s currently continuing her education and producing a new PSA on supporting queer spaces.
